Grow Your Team With This Framework: The Focus Quadrants

Hey, everybody!

Recently I learned about something that might be very useful to anyone whose business is growing, and I wanted to share it with you guys.

As always, I've made a video about it, go check it out on my blog if you haven't yet!

So I kind of knew about this exercise before, but somebody created a framework for me, and I finally did it.

I love frameworks, they have helped me grow or handle situations that I wasn't prepared to handle before.

This framework is for growing a team. You know, with time, your business is gonna grow, and there are things that will need to be taken care of.

Sometimes picking the things that you need to do, and the things you can do consistently is really hard. So you might not know when to delegate and ask someone to take over certain tasks.

So somebody taught this to me just recently: It's called a quadrant.

The Focus Quadrants

You create a quadrant, so four parts.

In the Upper left-hand part of this quadrant list all the things you're really good at doing, and also love to do them. List them all!

In the right quadrant, you're going to list the things that you're good at doing, but you hate.

Then, in the lower left-hand quadrant, list the things that you're really bad at, but love doing them. Maybe you have a passion for it, but you're not that skilled.

Finally, in the bottom right-hand corner, list the things that you hate and are also bad at doing.

Make a list in all four quadrants. And then you'll know where you can pick out where you need to get a little bit of help.

You'll realize that you might need to be focused on the things you love to do and that you're good at in your business.

And then, the things that you hate doing but maybe you're good at, you can commit to doing them or only supervise them.

But you really shouldn't do those tasks for long periods of time, because if you hate something and you're doing it, you're probably gonna self-sabotage.

So I went through this exercise, realized a few things, and hired some people.

It has really helped my business, it has helped my agency, It has helped me become more efficient, and it has helped my team for sure. And all thanks to a few quick decisions.

I'll create a little template for you guys and upload it right here. It's in the Blog Post Downloads. You can easily print it out.

Do yourself a favor and run through this exercise, because if you are you're working 40, 50, 60, or 70 hours a week, you really should consider building your team up and focus on where to start doing it

I hope you're having a great day and that you're enjoying your week so far.

It's the weekend for me right now. And it's beautiful here in Colorado. I'll see you guys again next week!

Thanks for reading,

Chris.
